This sauropod had a unique appearance, as if it were a combination of a stegosaur, an ankylosaur, and a porcupine. Its skin was covered with bony plates called osteoderms.
This dinosaur had a unique appearance, as if it were a combination of a stegosaur, an ankylosaur, and a porcupine.
Additionally, it had two rows of thick, rod-like spines, up to 75 cm long, running along its back to protect its sides. It’s also possible that these thick spines protected it from its neck all the way to its tail.
It may have been protected by thick spines from its neck to its tail.
Only a partial skeleton of Agustinia has been discovered, so if new fossils are found, it might reveal an even stranger appearance than currently imagined.
